HAUNTS

During the lockdown, I began to experiment with a looser style of painting. These works were created with palette knives in both oil and thickened acrylic mediums, though I ended up preferring the thickness of oil paint in the final works. I use my local environment and references from past travel photos in a nostalgic experimentation.

Thanks to a grant from the Ontario Arts Council, the canvas works in this section are framed in handmade, ebony stained wood. Flat works, like those on canvas board and masonite, have frames sourced from Preston Gallery, Uxbridge.

Many of these works were featured in my first solo exhibition, “Remnants & Revelations”, hosted by Skylight Gallery in March 2021.
